GEOLOGY AND ORE CHARACTERISTICS OF LOW SULFIDATION EPITHERMAL GOLD MINERALIZATION AT TAMBANG SAWAH, LEBONG, BENGKULU PROVINCE

Abstract –– Tambang Sawah Area, Lebong Regency, Bengkulu Province, is geologically located in the Barisan mountains and Sumatra fault zone. The prospect of area lies physiography central Sumatran ranges composed by igneous rocks Sunda – Banda magmatic arc. This study aimed to understand deposit geology ore characteristics gold at area. Quartz vein mineralization occurred granite rock intruded into andesitic breccia rocks, with geological structure control form joint, breccia, dike, fault, namely Ketahun that forms extentional fracture zones which were filled hydrothermal fluid quartz veins. Hydrothermal alterations appear site are typical types found epithermal deposits, namely, argillic, silicified propylitic. Sulfide minerals markers low sulfidation type deposits found, pyrite, calcopyrite, covelite, sphalerite galena colloform texture, cockade-crustiform, moss, brecciated texture. Gold interpreted be derived from deposition sulfide veins, level veins varies greatly an average 4,8 ppm. Based on results geochemical analysis positively correlated elements Ag, Cu, Pb Zn.
